The Noragi on which we embroidered a dorsal Sashiko over the entire height and width is dated from the 19th century, i.e. 200 years (1820/1830). A collector's item.
To enhance this magnificent Noragi, a Japanese back embroidery called Sashiko was made entirely by hand in our L'INSOUMIS CLOTHING workshop by Sophie. These geometric shapes are repeated over the entire height and width of the Noragi with a duality in the colors of the red and ecru cotton threads that gives a 3D effect to the design. It took 3 days of meticulous, intense, spiritual work and with all the humility in front of this piece and this art for an exceptional garment, a unique piece.

🇯🇵The kimono referred to any type of clothing . This is also the literal translation: "clothing that one wears on oneself" ( kiru And mono ).

Nowadays, it refers to the long traditional Japanese dress , worn by both women and men. It takes the shape of a T, composed of large rectangles sewn or folded, never cut. Contrary to what one might think, it is a really complex garment in its construction.

It was the women of the family who spun the flax and hemp (asa) and then wove it. These operations were carried out by hand for several centuries, until the arrival of looms and other wheels. This knowledge was passed down from mother to daughter and the "NORAGI" were passed down from generation to generation.
