Sashiko (刺し子, from Japanese "small sticks" or "small stitches" ) is a Japanese embroidery technique . Historically used to mend clothes, make them stronger or quilt them, it is now also used for decorative purposes and in fashion.
Boro is a category of textile Japanese which have been mended or sewn together. The term is derived from the Japanese boroboro , meaning "something tattered or repaired."
